MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – For the first time in nearly three weeks, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team will hit the links as it prepares for the CSU Wendy's Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern University.

The Golden Eagles will travel south to Mount Pleasant, S.C. for a 54-hole tournament at the prestigious Rivertowne Country Club, a 4.5 star course rated by Golf Digest's Places to Play. The event will feature 6,100 yards of par-72 play beginning with a 7:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start on Monday. Play will continue on Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament, which is in its sixth year of existence, has featured five different winners, including host Charleston Southern, which won the inaugural 2008 event.

Twelve teams will make up the field in the Invitational, with Tech representing the lone Ohio Valley Conference team to participate. Three of the past five winners of the event will join this year's field, including Charleston Southern (2008), Coastal Carolina (2009), and Richmond (2012).

Here's an alphabetical look at the participating squads:

Charleston Southern
The Citadel
Coastal Carolina
College of Charleston
Presbyterian
Radford
Richmond
Tennessee Tech
Towson
USC-Beaufort
USC-Upstate
Wofford

Tech returns to action nearly three weeks since its last tournament, the Great Smokies Intercollegiate. The Golden Eagles fought for a ninth place finish at the event, improving two spots after the first round in the 36-hole tournament.

"I'm very excited for the women to travel to Charleston to play at such an outstanding venue as Rivertowne," said head coach Polk Brown. "It should really test their games and I am looking forward to seeing how they compete against some very good teams. They have been working hard since Western Carolina's event and I believe they will perform quite well this week."

Once again, the Golden Eagles will trot out the same starting five:

  1. Maddi Everts (R-So.)
  2. Megan Williamson (So.)
  3. Whitney Robertson (Fr.)
  4. Allison Geer (So.)
  5. Lydia Triplett (Fr.)
