CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – In the second of what amounts to three consecutive weeks of golf, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team will grab its clubs and head west as the Golden Eagles participate in the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.

Tech heads to the event, hosted by Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay, with just one goal in mind. Win the tournament. And that is definitely an achievable goal. The Golden Eagles have taken home top honors twice at the event, winning the 1999 and 2008 tournaments.

Tech has also boasted four individual medalists since 1999, the most of any team to participate in the event.

This year's intercollegiate will take place at the 5,960-yard, par-72 Clarksville Country Club. Featuring 36 holes over two days, play will begin Monday with an 8-9:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start. Tuesday will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Fourteen teams will make up the field, including nine OVC institutions and two other regional teams.

Here's an alphabetical look at the participating squads:

Austin Peay
Belmont
Eastern Illinois
Eastern Kentucky
Houston Baptist
Jacksonville State
Lipscomb
Murray State
Northern Kentucky
Radford
SIUE
Tennessee State
Tennessee Tech
Towson

The Golden Eagles come off a solid fifth-place finish at the CSU Wendy's Invitational last week, a rain-soaked event that saw freshmen Lydia Triplett and Whitney Robertson perform exceedingly well. The two newcomers tied for ninth place.

"We're really excited to go to Austin Peay's event," said head coach Polk Brown. "There's always a lot of OVC schools there and there again this year. I think the girls are going to do very, very well after coming off a great finish at Charleston Southern. The weather looks to be a little more ideal for us this time around. I'm excited. The course is really good and the greens are usually outstanding. I think they're going to do well."

Freshman Haley Davidson will make her first career appearance in the starting five this week, while sophomore Allison Geer will make the trip as an individual:

  1. Maddi Everts (So.)
  2. Megan Williamson (So.)
  3. Whitney Robertson (Fr.)
  4. Lydia Triplett (Fr.)
  5. Haley Davidson (Fr.)
  6. Allison Geer (So.) - Competing as an individual
