MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Consistency was the key to the tournament for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team as the Golden Eagles finished its final event of the fall, the MTSU Blue Raider Invitational, in ninth place.

The Golden Eagle squad concluded the two-day event with a steady 307-306-304=917 scoreline, ranking above Ohio Valley Conference foes Belmont and Austin Peay in the 15-team event. Several of the Tech players turned in solid performances at the par-72, 6,177-yard Old Fort Golf Course, including veteran Maddi Everts.

The sophomore collected her highest finish of the fall, tying for sixth overall out of 84 participants. It marked her third time in the top 16 this season alone, as well as the fourth top five finish of her career. Everts shot 74-76-73=223, her best three-round score of the season and third best of her career.

Freshman Whitney Robertson posted another solid finish, tying for 22nd after a 72-79-77=228 tournament. It marked her third consecutive top 25 finish after ranking in the top 10 in each of her past two tournaments.

Sophomore Megan Williamson posted a solid 80-74-77=231 to tie for 36th in the event, her highest finish since the opening tournament of the fall. Freshman Lydia Triplett rounded out the scoring for the Golden Eagles, carding an 82-77-77=236.

Also participating in the tournament was sophomore Allison Geer. The Doyle, Tenn. native put together a final of 81-84-86=251 for the event.

Southern Illinois took home the top spot in the event, shooting an impressive 897 over three rounds to just nip the win away from host Middle Tennessee by one stroke. Morehead State's Anna Appert Lund earned medalist honors in the event, carding an incredible 209, six strokes better than the second place finisher, Avery George of MTSU.

The Golden Eagles women's golf team will hang things up for the winter after five events, but will return to the links in the early part of 2014 for the spring season. The spring schedule will be released in coming weeks.

The Golden Eagles will conclude its fall schedule with the final round of the 15-team event Tuesday morning. Play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start.
