COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Tech soccer team will be away from Cookeville for the third consecutive weekend, but fans will have the opportunity to follow all the action right from home. The Golden Eagles are slated for visits to Belmont and UNC Asheville for a pair of non-conference match-ups.

Tech will visit Nashville to take on defending Atlantic Sun champion Belmont on Sept. 11. The Golden Eagles and Bruins have been evenly matched throughout program history, as the Tech holds a 4-5-1 record against the Bruins all-time. Belmont enters the week at 1-3-0 in 2009. The match against Belmont will be Tech's third against a 2008 NCAA tournament participant of the young 2009 season.

Fans can follow the action live on GameTracker through the Belmont athletics Web site at www.belmontbruins.com.

"We're going to have to be organized and play an effort-filled 90 minutes in order to compete," Tech head coach Becky Fletcher said.

On Sunday the Golden Eagles will head to Asheville, N.C., to face off against UNC Asheville. The Bulldogs enter the week with a 2-1-0 record, and hold victories over East Tennessee State and Wofford, and suffered its only loss of the season to Appalachian State.

"UNC Asheville has had some great results this season," Fletcher said. "They get a team effort every time they step on the field. As always, it's going to be a 90-minute battle. Our girls need to be prepared to play the best soccer they can."

Fans can watch all the action against UNC Asheville via live video streaming at www.bigsouthsports.com. The game will be available to order anytime up until an hour after game time for a cost of $4.95.

"We need to play patient soccer," Fletcher said. "The opponents we're facing this weekend will not hand us any opportunities, we're going to have to create our own. These are two very organized teams."

With 12 true freshmen on the roster, the young Golden Eagle squad has been hitting the practice field with a mission during the week.

"We're still building chemistry with 12 new players," Fletcher said. "We're looking to find the right combination of players, and we're waiting to see it click on all cylinders. Our goal is to get better every time we step on the field, whether it's for a practice or a game."

The Golden Eagles wrap up their seven-game road trip next weekend at the University of Kentucky tournament. Tech will square off against Marshall on Sept. 18 and face host Kentucky on Sept. 20.

Tech will play in Cookeville for the first time Since Aug. 30 when they open up Ohio Valley Conference play against UT Martin on Sept. 25. Admission to all Tech home soccer matches is free.
