NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech outdoor track & field team put a cap on its 2022-23 regular season Saturday afternoon, delivering another slew of personal-best marks and fantastic showings while rounding out action at the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.

Junior Kendall Medders kicked off the day with yet another strong performance in the high jump, tying her outdoor, season-high mark of 1.60 meters (5'3") to lock down a top-10 finish. Fellow veteran Jalena Curbeam continued the impressive display, placing fourth in the triple jump. The senior turned in a jump of 11.62 meters (38'1.5"), less than one inch off her outdoor season high.

Moving over to the track side of the competition, the Golden Eagle 4x100-meter relay squad blazed to a season-best showing to place fifth overall. Trenia Stephens, Tenae Minor, Sidnee Stanton, and Amara Nwajagu came together to clock in at 47.14 seconds.

Both Minor and Stephens produced impressive results in the 100-meter dash as well, both registering new PRs. Minor locked down a top-15 finish with a time of 12.15 for a career-best at Tech while Stephens crossed the finish line at 12.21 for her new personal record.

Competing in the 400-meter dash, Kategie Casseus blitzed to a massive PR, besting her previous career mark by more than a full second with a time of 57.40 seconds.

Both Paris Bowles and Nyla Armand put forth masterful performances in the 800-meter, each notching new career marks. Bowles won her heat behind a time of 2:12.03 while Armand captured her new personal-best time of 2:17.25.

Closing out the banner day in style was the 4x400-meter relay squad of Stephens, Bowles, Malika Coutain, and Nwajagu. Placing third overall, the group fired off the fastest time in the Ohio Valley Conference this season while winning its heat over the likes of Belmont, UT Martin, Lindenwood, and Lipscomb with a time of 3:45.64.

Representing the purple and gold as an individual on the men's side of the meet, Isaac Legault posted a new PR in the 800-meter with a time of 1:57.16.

"Our student-athletes have raised the level of performance just at the right time of the season," Tech head coach Peter Dalton said. "As we conclude the regular season, there's no doubt that the athletes are ready and hungry for the upcoming OVC Championships."
