BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech track & field boasted not one, not two, but three student-athletes taking home weekly accolades Wednesday afternoon, as the Golden Eagles swept the Ohio Valley Conference Female Indoor Track & Field awards.

Sophomore Amara Nwajagu took home her first career OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week honor while junior Kendall Medders was named OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. Rookie Sidnee Stanton completed the sweep, collecting her first-ever OVC Female Freshman Athlete of the Week award.

All three put forth personal records while competing at the Bellarmine Open in Louisville last Friday.

Nwajagu placed second among 25 competitors in the 400-meter dash at the event, recording the fastest time in the OVC this season with a personal-best showing of 56.59. The Fayetteville, Ga. native also set a PR in the 200-meter dash, finishing sixth among 25 sprinters with a time of 25.30.

Medders literally soared to new heights at the Bellarmine Open, delivering her best performance yet in the purple and gold. The Knoxville native cleared a PR height of 1.65 meters (5'5") in the high jump, placing third among 13 competitors with a jump that ranks tied for the best in the OVC this season.

Rounding out the trio, Stanton turned in two impressive displays in her second career meet, starting with a runner-up performance among 19 competitors in the long jump. The native of Knoxville posted the second-best distance in the OVC this season with a PR of 5.60 meters (18'4.5"). She followed it up with another second-place showing and the fifth-longest mark in the triple jump by an OVC athlete this season, a personal-best leap of 11.55 meters (37'10.75").

The Golden Eagles return to action at the Tigers Indoor Invitational hosted by Sewanee in Sewanee, Tenn. on Saturday, Jan. 28.
