JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Tennessee Tech track & field team put together a solid team performance as they wrapped up the 2014 Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State this weekend.
Sophomore Chelsea Mills followed up her record-breaking jumping performance in the Golden Eagles last meet with a season-best 27.06 in the 200 meter-dash. Brooklyn Kimball ran a 27.92 200 meter-dash, and Brittany McGee ran joined them in the 200 meter-dash with a time of 28.80, and also ran the 60 meter-dash with a time of 8.57.
Freshman Rebeca Duarte (pictured) ran two solid races as she ran a 9.01 60m-dash and followed it up with a 30.17 200m-dash.
Shaking of the rust, senior Rebecca Cline ran in the 5000m Invite race for her first track race of the season where she ran a time of 19:29.48. Three Golden Eagles ran the 5000m Open race. Peri Winborne led the way with a time of 20:23.33, Megan O'Donoghue and Ameila McCoy followed close behing with times of 21:31.47 and 21:36.05, respectively.
In the field events, Erin Keyes was the lone high jumper for the Golden Eagles, clearing a mark of 5-00.25, while Atlanta Westbrook was the sole long jumper hitting a distance of 15-05.00. Westbrook also ran the 400 meter-dash and finished with a time of 64.82.
