Morehead State enters the weekend with a 6-9 record, opening the OVC slate last week at home against Southern Indiana. The host Eagles were saddled with bookending losses to the Screaming Eagles as USI won 6-4 and 9-5. Morehead won the sandwiched game 6-5.

Madi Ogden leads MSU with a 3-5 record in the circle, posting a 3.63 earned run average. She has 40 strikeouts on the season, but also has 40 walks. Jessie Begley (4.88, 2-2) and Lennon Spicer (5.25, 1-2) have eight starts combined between the two.

Morehead State also had a mid-week doubleheader against East Tennessee State on Tuesday, splitting against the Buccaneers.

The Golden Eagles saw its offense come up big against the Flying Leathernecks, winning 4-3 and 6-3 – the latter on a walk-off grand slam from Haeli Bryson – as Tech broke a 14-game losing streak. Bryson drove in seven in the twinbill.

Abby Shoulders leads the team in batting with a .333 average and six RBI. Carmen Betts is close behind with a .320 average and nine RBI, while Bryson is batting .288 with a team-best 18 RBI.
