Golden Eagles fall to No. 4 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Jordynn Shirley, Jordan Key and Ella Bishop each claimed hits against No. 4 Tennessee's pitching staff on Tuesday as the Lady Vols showed why they're the No. 4-ranked team in the country, claiming a five-inning, 19-0 victory over the Golden Eagles at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
 
Tech (1-16) returns to action on Friday as it hosts Ohio and Robert Morris in a two-day tournament at Tech Softball Field. The games are free to the public and will also be streamed on ESPN+ with Dylan Vazzano providing the call (subscription required).
 
Tennessee (17-1) extended its winning streak to 12 games, claiming 16 hits in the contest. The Lady Vols scored four in the first inning, four in the second, five in the third and six in the fourth. None of the 19 runs were on home runs.
 
Camryn Sarvis drove in four as she was 2-for-2 at the plate, while Giulia Koutsoyanopulos and Lair Beautae each knocked in three runs with a 2-for-3 performance.
 
Charli Orsini picked up her first victory of the season as she yielded one hit and struck out one across three innings, while Ryleigh White threw the final three frames, allowing two hits and striking out three.
 
Callie Piper took the loss, allowing eight runs – six earned – in two innings with four walks, while former Lady Vol Kaylan Cole allowed five runs on three hits, walking three in one frame. Gracelyn Woollen closed out the contest, allowing six runs – four earned – on seven hits.
