Golden Eagles host in-state rival ETSU in Sunday matinee

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team continues its three-game home stand Sunday afternoon, playing host to in-state rival ETSU in a 3:00 p.m. CT start in the Hooper Eblen Center.

Fans can follow the action on ESPN+ with Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper providing coverage.

ETSU (3-1) enters Sunday's affair after picking up a home victory over one of Tech's new Ohio Valley Conference foes, Little Rock. The Buccaneers took down the Trojans 84-76, picking up their third win of the season.

The Bucs also own wins over Emory & Henry and Elon on the year, with the team's lone loss a neutral site defeat at the hands of Louisiana. Sunday's contest marks the first true road game for ETSU this season

The tilt represents the first between Tech and ETSU since 2015, a 63-61 victory by the Golden Eagles in Cookeville. Overall, the purple and gold own a slight, 37-36 advantage over the Bucs.

The Golden Eagles (1-3) dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to Coppin State Thursday evening, falling 90-85 in a contest that featured a whopping 25 lead changes and 17 ties. Five members of the Tech squad scored in double figures on the night, led by forward Jaylen Sebree.

The graduate transfer turned in a career-high 22 points with a team-high nine rebounds while hitting 7-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe. Fellow grad transfer Ty Perry produced a season-high 17 points while tying for the team lead of five assists.

Playing nearly 40 minutes in the contest, South Dakota transfer Erik Oliver chipped in 14 points and team-high-tying five helpers. Junior guard Brett Thompson managed 13 points with four dimes while junior forward Daniel Ramsey tallied 14 points and seven boards.
