COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team returns to the Hooper Eblen Center for a three-game homestand starting Thursday evening, playing host to Coppin State in a 7:30 p.m. CT affair as part of doubleheader action with the Golden Eagle women's team. The Tech women host Trevecca Nazarene at 5:30 p.m.

Fans can follow the action via radio on 106.1 The Eagle with Roger Ealey on the call or stream the game on ESPN+ with Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell providing coverage. The contest will mark the second of two for Tech as part of the Herd Run Hoops Jam presented by Tarkett Sports multi-team event.

Coppin State (2-2) enters the match-up fresh off a pair of wins after starting the season 0-2. On Friday, the Eagles bested Mount St. Mary's in a home tilt, 83-78, and followed it up with a 75-68 triumph over Navy on Monday.

Last season, Coppin State nearly completed a Cinderella story in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament, earning the No. 7 seed and upsetting No. 2 Howard in the quarterfinals. The Eagles advanced again by knocking off No. 3 NC Central, qualifying for its first title game since 2008. CSU eventually fell to No. 1 seed Norfolk State.

The match-up represents the first between the two programs and Tech's fifth against a program from the current make-up of the MEAC. The purple and gold owns a 1-0 record against Maryland Eastern Shore, a 1-1 mark with South Carolina State, and an 0-1 line facing NC Central.

The Golden Eagles (1-2) fell in their most recent tilt at Marshall, 91-65, in the first contest of the Herd Run Hoops Jam presented by Tarkett Sports MTE. The Thundering Herd used a decisive advantage on the glass, 48-30 overall, to take 20 more shots than Tech and claim the 26-point win.

Graduate transfer Jaylen Sebree led Tech offensively with a team-high 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting and added five rebounds to the mix. Jayvis Harvey tallied a career-high 13 points with five boards of his own while South Dakota transplant Erik Oliver put forth a 10-point effort.

Point guard Ty Perry led the Golden Eagles with four assists while tallying nine points while center Nolan Causwell supplied eight points on 4-for-4 shooting with a team-best six boards off the bench.
