Fans invited to hear head coach give
the “inside” scoop on Golden Eagles

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fans of Tennessee Tech football who would like to go “inside” the Golden Eagle program each week with head coach Watson Brown are invited as he hosts a weekly Football Insiders’ Lunch each Monday during the 2015 season. The first lunch is Monday.

The Insiders’ Lunch made its debut in 2009 with Brown talking about his team and showing video footage with a detailed explanation of several key plays. The weekly event has proven to be an extremely popular feature as the veteran coach points out aspects of plays that many fans don’t see while watching the games.   

“I really enjoy showing the video and breaking down the plays, and I think the people who came to the lunches saw the game from a new perspective,” Brown said. “They ask questions and it is always a lot of fun.”

Now in his ninth season as Golden Eagle head coach, Brown will talk each week about the previous contests and take a look forward to the next opponent. The lunches will feature a relaxed, informal setting each Monday in the Eagles’ Nest in Eblen Center.

“These lunches are meant to be a gathering place for friends of Tech football in a comfortable, casual atmosphere, and we’ll just spend the hour talking about Golden Eagle football,” Brown said. “I’ll try to answer any questions fans have about the team, the games, and Tech football, and try to keep everyone up-to-date on the program.”

The first lunch of the 2015 season is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14, following Tech’s games against Houston and Wofford, and prior to the home opener this week against Mercer. The lunch takes place every Monday during the regular season, from 11:30 a.m. until approximatety 1 p.m.

The cost is just $10 per week. The meals will be catered by Chartwell’s, Tech’s on-campus food service.
