BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech left fielder Jason Hinchman was recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season as announced by the league on Monday.

In four games during the week, Hinchman helped the Golden Eagles erupt for a total of 14 home runs, including 10 alone in a midweek victory over North Alabama. The slugger delivered four long balls himself during the week, making some history along the way.

He became just the third Golden Eagle in program history to record at least 10 dingers in three different seasons, joining Kevin Strohschein and Zach Stephens in the exclusive club, both Tech's and the Ohio Valley Conference's career home runs leaders. Both former Tech greats accomplished the feat four times.

Now with 54 jacks in his career, Hinchman sits just nine away from breaking both records. He also sits just three away from passing Austin Peay's Parker Phillips for third on the league's all-time chart.

During the week, Hinchman hit. 389 with six runs scored, four home runs, and five RBI. He slugged 1.056 with an on-base percentage of .450, smashing a long ball in three of the four contests and two in the series finale against Bradley.

The senior picked up two hits in three of the four games, and at least one in each contest. He also drove in at least one run in each contest.

The Golden Eagles will continue their eight-game homestand Tuesday evening, playing host to a 6:00 p.m. CT midweek tilt against in-state rival Middle Tennessee at the Quill.
