COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With four-time Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year Matt Bragga back at the helm of the program, the Tennessee Tech baseball team is set for the 2022 baseball season. The 16th season under the direction of the longtime Golden Eagle head coach will embark in just three short weeks.

"The guys are working hard and are excited to get this season rolling," Bragga expressed. "Opening day is just around the corner and I can't wait to see our young men take the field for the first time. Our schedule has a great mix of home and road games against high-quality opponents. It should be a great challenge and I'm thrilled to be back in Cookeville and leading this great ball club."

A total of 53 games are on tap for the Golden Eagles in 2022, including 24 in the comfort of the Quillen Field and Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. The slate also features four neutral-site match-ups, leaving 25 road contests on the docket.

The purple and gold will get its start to the second Bragga era on the road, competing in Mobile, Ala. at the South Alabama Invitational Feb. 18-20. Opening day includes a tilt with Oral Roberts, followed by a neutral site affair with Radford the next day. Play ends on the weekend against the host Jaguars.

Tech's home opener will take place the following weekend, with Bragga's official return to Quillen Field set to take place Feb. 25. The Cookeville crew will kick off a three-game series with Eastern Michigan to welcome back the Golden Eagle skipper.
