COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – There's less than a month before the annual Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Michelob Ultra and there's only a few spots remaining for this year's field.
The fundraiser for Tennessee Tech Athletics returns to its three-day format on June 12 through 14 at Golden Eagle Golf Club and White Plains Golf Course.
Over a hundred teams have signed up to compete in this year's event and time is running out to lock down one of the remaining spots.
The $250 entry fee per golfer includes:
- Greens fees (cart not included) for two practice rounds (one at each course) any time leading up to the event after they have paid their registration in full.
- A small bucket/bag of balls to hit prior to each tournament round
- Free lunch each round (featuring one hot dog, one bag of chips and six drink tickets)
- One free cart per team during each round of the tournament
- Entry to the annual BBQ dinner featuring door prizes
- Opportunity to win flight gift certificates
- Increased payouts based on field of play
- Goody bags with a distinctive gift
In consideration of the present COVID-19 situation, however, there are modifications to this year's event.
The annual Doc Fields Concert, held on the Friday night of the event, has been canceled in accordance with restrictions on hosting events and distancing. In exchange for the concert, the tournament committee has granted participating teams a mulligan for each day with a fully-paid entry fee. Players who have already paid for mulligans will receive a refund for the amount.
All other scheduled events are on, including the Saturday night BBQ dinner.
Further changes to the schedule are not anticipated but are subject to change depending on any unpredicted circumstances that may arise concerning COVID-19. In the event of the event's last-minute cancellation, the paid entry fee will be fully refunded. If a golfer may need to drop out of the event at the last minute due to COVID-19 related issues, those situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
