COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech's student-athletes raided their closets for a good cause last week as they participated in a clothing drive in conjunction with the TTU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Golden Eagle softball team led the way, bringing in 746 items or 33.9 items per teammate. Women's track and field/cross country was second with 243 items (11.04), while soccer was third with 151 items (6.04).
The clothing donated will be taken to the Cookeville Rescue Mission to help provide those in need.
The event was held as part of last week's Homecoming festivities.
The winning teams will be recognized in April as part of the annual Golden Wings Awards event.
