Caudle joins Tech staff as sports information coordinator

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Jonathan Caudle joined the Tennessee Tech University Athletics Department as sports information coordinator, Sports Information Director Mike Lehman announced on Thursday.

Caudle will serve as the primary contact and oversee the publicity efforts of the Golden Eagles' volleyball, women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, and women's track & field programs.

"I'm excited and honored to receive the opportunity to be a part of Tennessee Tech University. I would like to thank Mark Wilson and Mike Lehman for allowing me to have this exciting opportunity to join the Golden Eagle family," expressed Caudle. "Immediately when I set foot on the Cookeville campus, I could sense the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Tech and knew that this is a place that I wanted to be. I am excited to get to be a part of the future of Tech Athletics and tell the compelling stories of our student-athletes and their success."

Caudle joins the Golden Eagles staff after serving as the sports information director at the University of Providence. During his time in Montana, he served as the primary media liaison for Argo Athletics and its 20 league-sponsored sports. With the Argos, he covered a pair of NAIA tournament appearances, in addition to seven individual NAIA postseason championship appearances. He facilitated the Frontier Conference cross country and Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, in addition to volunteering with the 2019 NAIA women's basketball championship.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan to our office and department," Lehman said. "He has a wealth of experience in just about every aspect of athletics communications and sports information that we cover here and he will be an instant asset to Tennessee Tech. His enthusiasm and willingness to learn and work hard and long hours is contagious. With his understanding of the field and eagerness to learn more, Jonathan has a bright future here at Tech and in the sports information world."

Prior to joining the Argo Athletics' staff, Caudle served as a sports information and advanced media assistant with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, an NCAA Division II conference located in Colorado Springs. While at the RMAC, Caudle shared communications responsibilities for the conference's 15 member institutions and 23 league-sponsored sports.

During his time with the RMAC, Caudle wrote and disseminated conference press releases, facilitated the conference's player of the week voting, and served as the media relations coordinator during seven conference championships.

Caudle received his first experience in sports information when he served as an athletics communications intern at his alma mater, Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, Caudle served as the primary assistant for volleyball managing game day responsibilities, in addition to assisting with football, women's soccer, and men's and women's basketball.

Prior to his work in athletics communications, Caudle served as a social media intern within the Office of Communications and Marketing at Texas Tech University. In this capacity, Caudle acted as the voice of Texas Tech University, generating daily social content to bolster the brand of Texas Tech University.

A native of Houston, Caudle holds a pair of degrees from Texas Tech University, having earned an undergraduate degree in public relations in 2014 and a master's degree in mass communications with a focus in sports and media in 2015.
