2015 volleyball season opens up as the Golden Eagles report for training camp

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The 2015 season has officially begun as the Tennessee Tech volleyball team gears up for the upcoming campaign after reporting to camp for the beginning of its preseason. The Golden Eagles will be going through two-a-days and three-a-days leading up to the first events.

The Golden Eagles soar in to training camp from 12 different states. The state of Tennessee boasts the highest number represented as lone senior and Cookeville native Cody Dodd looks to lead Tech this season. Her fellow Tennesseans include junior Kennedy Wade of Knoxville and freshman Jessica Oliver of Murfreesboro. Two Golden Eagles hail from Ohio, while California, Oregon, Idaho, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and North Carolina are home to one student-athlete apiece. The coaching staff represents both Michigan and Delaware.

Tech's preseason will conclude on Aug. 22, when the Golden Eagles will participate in the annual Purple & Gold Scrimmage at 4 p.m. in the newly renovated Eblen Center. From there, they will prepare for the first tournament of the season as they head to Dayton, Ohio for the Wright State Invitational on Aug. 28 and 29.

Golden Eagle fans will be able to catch the volleyball at home for the first time on Sept. 18 and 19 as Tech hosts the Golden Eagle Invitational presented by Hampton Inn. Tech will host Towson, Western Carolina and Idaho.
