MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team concluded its slew of four straight games on the road with a 3-0 loss at the hands of Middle Tennessee State University on Sunday evening.

A trio of early scores proved to be too much to overcome for the Golden Eagles (1-6-0), as the Blue Raiders found the back of the net three times within the contest's first 26 minutes.

MTSU (2-3-2) kicked off the scoring just over eight minutes into the match, using a Tori Hawkins goal to help set the initial tempo. It was the sophomore's first of the 2013 campaign, with the play set up thanks to a feed inside the box from fellow sophomore Kate Loye.

Loye's assist started what would turn into a stellar showing for the Hamilton, New Zealand native, as the 5-6 midfielder scored the next two goals for the Blue Raiders to finish with five points on the day.

The first of two came in the 12th minute, when Hawkins returned the favor to pick up the assist. MTSU capped off its scoring in the 26th minute behind Loye's second goal, an unassisted score.

Tech attempted six shots the entire match, only recording one shot-on-goal behind a Katie Phillips blast that was gobbled up by sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Brouwer for her only save of the tilt.

The Blue Raiders notched 17 shots for the entire match, seven on-goal, as TTU sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Brown earned four saves through 90 minutes of play.

The Golden Eagles will now shift their attention to the final week of non-conference action, returning home on Friday for a matchup with UT Chattanooga at 4 p.m CDT., before closing out the non-conference slate at East Tennessee State on Sunday at 12 p.m CDT.

Friday's match will kick off the 2013-14 debut of the Golden Eagle Sports Network video broadcast stream, as the game will be available for viewing on the OVC Digital Network. Fans can find the match by visiting OVCDigitalNetwork.com and looking for Tennessee Tech on the Live Events page.
