COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Like cities and towns around the globe, the
Cookeville community is awash in World Cup excitement. Chants of
"USA, USA" and red, white and blue clothing have replaced the usual
purple and gold attire and crowds calling out "TTU, TTU."
On Tuesday afternoon (July 1), the City of Cookeville and the
local soccer community invite all fans to come together for a World
Cup watch party at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center (CPAC),
formerly called the Drama Center. The United States faces Belgium
beginning at 3 p.m.
That means Cookeville will join the likes of Grant Park in
Chicago, McTeague's Saloon in San Francisco, Wall Street Plaza in
Orlando, Arlington Cinema & Draft House in Arlington, Va., and
the Power & Light District in Kansas City, Kan.

The viewing party is FREE OF CHARGE, and fans are encouraged to
wear RED, WHITE, & BLUE to join in for a fun afternoon cheering
on this wonderful country. The center is expected to fill
quickly, so fans are encouraged to arrive early and ensure a
seat.
"This is a great chance to show the entire city how important
soccer and other field sports are to our community and why we all
need to get behind the various teams that play by improving the
fields and facilities at the complex," said Michael Lombardo, one
of the organizers of the event. "I ask folks to help spread the
word via their Twitter and Instagram accounts to ensure everyone
knows that this great opportunity exits. We invite everyone to come
decked out in their red, white and blue. It will be a terrific time
for all involved."
