FINDLAY, Ohio - The Golden Eagles' soccer team checked its place in the win column for the first time this season, taking out the University of Findlay, 3-1 on the road.

A pair of scores by senior Ellie Iaciofano helped do the trick, as the senior from Loveland, Ohio was responsible for Tech's first goal to push the Golden Eagles to a 1-0 lead, before finding the back of the net late in the match to seal the deal on the win.

Iaciofano's unassisted goal in the 22nd minute served as the only score in the first half, as the Golden Eagles (1-4-0) went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead. Just over 12 minutes into the second stanza, freshman Abi Gearing padded the advantage with the first score of her collegiate career, using a pass from fellow freshman Ashlyn Flaherty to give Tech a 2-0 lead. Flaherty's pass netted the Chagrin Falls, Ohio native the first assist and point of her TTU tenure.

Playing in their first tilt of the year, the Oilers (0-1-0) jumped on the board with a 70th minute net-finder off the leg of senior Katie Burke to trim the Golden Eagle lead to 2-1. Fellow senior Sarah Silone earned the assist on the goal, her first of the season.

The aforementioned Iaciofano added all the insurance that TTU needed in the 82nd minute, picking up an unassisted score to push Tech to a 3-1 advantage. Iaciofano's two goals give her a team-leading three on the young season.

Both squads drew even with 14 shots each, mirroring each other with four in the first half and 10 in the second.

Golden Eagle sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Brown continued her impressive 2013 campaign, tabbing six more saves to push her total to 43 on the year. The League City, Texas native entered the affair leading the Ohio Valley Conference in stops.

Findlay senior goalkeeper Kelsea Corns notched seven halts on the day, allowing three goals in the process.

With its first win on the board, Tech will march into Muncie, Ind. on Sunday, squaring off against Ball State at 12 p.m. CDT.
