Golden Eagles slated for weekend work at Jan Weaver Invitational

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team will get one more test prior to the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, heading for Murray, Ky. and the two-day Jan Weaver Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course. The tournament, hosted by league foe Murray State, will take place Friday, Apr. 9 and Saturday, Apr. 10.

JAN WEAVER INVITATIONAL: Apr. 9-10, 2021 – 54 holes (36 Friday, 18 Saturday), located at the par-72, 6,024-yard Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky. Play will begin Friday with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start and wrap up with the final round set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are redshirt senior Arianna Clemmer, sophomore Elisabeth Toennessen, freshman Ainsley Simms, sophomore Katrine Toennessen and senior Isabel York. Competing as an individual is sophomore Gittle Sciolis.

THE COMPETITION: The 13-team field consists of host Murray State, as well as Austin Peay, Belmont, Bradley, Central Arkansas, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Georgia State, Samford, Seton Hall, Southern Illinois and Tennessee Tech.

THOUGHTS FROM ASSISTANT COACH AMANDA SMITH: "As we are nearing the OVC Championships, it's great to see the development of our players start to take shape. EKU taught us that we are more than capable of playing in tough conditions come the last day. We are excited to jump in this field and narrow down our focus leading into the last few weeks."
