Golden Eagles start 2020-21 campaign at Lady Bison Bay Point Classic

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team will finally begin its 2020-21 season Monday morning, beginning two days of play at the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic in Panama City Beach, Fla. After nearly a full year away from competition on the links, the Golden Eagles will compete at Bay Point Golf Club.

LADY BISON BAY POINT CLASSIC: Feb. 8-9, 2021 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 5,971-yard Nicklaus Course at Bay Point Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla. Tech will kick off action with a shotgun start Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. CT. Tuesday's action will feature double tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Heidi Lawson, sophomore Elisabeth Toennessen, senior Hannah Bratton, sophomore Katrine Toennessen and redshirt-senior Arianna Clemmer.

THE COMPETITION: The nine-team field consists of host Lipscomb, as well as, Campbell, Eastern Illinois, Indiana State, North Alabama, Tennessee Tech, Troy, UNC Asheville and USC Upstate.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "We've been waiting for this day for a long time, and we are so excited to get back to tournament golf. The ladies have been hard at work in their preparation. We look forward to the opportunity to compete and return to some sense of normalcy."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: This marks the first-ever appearance in the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic, and the earliest event in the spring season for the Golden Eagles since Feb. 6-8, 2000 at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational.
