COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team heads south for their first trip to the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in two years after the cancellation of the 2020 spring season due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Tech will compete with the other members of the league in Owens Cross Roads, Ala. at the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove.
OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS: Apr. 18-20, 2021 – 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,025-yard Highlands Course at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, Ala. Play will begin Sunday with tee times kicking off at 8:00 a.m. CT.
GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Hannah Bratton, junior Heidi Lawson, redshirt senior Arianna Clemmer, sophomore Elisabeth Toennessen and freshman Ainsley Simms.
THE COMPETITION: The eight-team field consists of Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State and Tennessee Tech. Tennessee State, who sponsors the sport, is not competing this spring.
THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "We are so excited to compete in the OVC Championships for the first time in two years given the pandemic. The ladies have been working hard all semester to get to here, and we look forward to the opportunity that's in front of us."
