Golden Eagles saw success at Hilltopper Relays on Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.—The Tennessee Tech track and field team saw abundant success at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday at Western Kentucky university.

There, Micayla Rennick placed first in the 1,500-meter run, beating out all other runners from schools of Bellarmine, Murray State, Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Cumberland (Tenn.) Rennick recorded a time of 4:32.55 in the race, which clocked in two seconds faster than the next participant.

D'Airrien Jackson claimed a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.38. Jackson clocked in faster than runners from schools of Findlay, Austin Peay, Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Cumberland (Tenn.), and Kentucky State, while teammate Jaydean Joseph placed 13th with a time of 57.93. Na'Asha Robinson placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.68, beating out all other runners from Western Kentucky, Murray State, Indiana Tech, Austin Peay, and Grand Valley State. Teammate Jackson placed 10th with a time of 25.08 and Eshe' Robinson placed 58th with a 29.23 mark.

The quad of N. Robinson, Jaydean Joseph, Sharnique Leonce, and Jackson claimed a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:42.21 beating out all other teams of Murray State, Western Kentucky, Grand Valley State, and Northern Kentucky. While the Tech grouping of Liebenberg, E. Robinson, Retano, Stremler placed 10th with a time of 4:15.00.

NaScottisha Drummond claimed a fifth place finish in the high jump with a 1.60-meter leap. Teammate Sharnique Leonce placed ninth with a 1.55-meter jump. Leonce also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28, while E. Robinson placed 26th in the race with a time of 16.03. Antonia Susnjar placed fifth in the javelin with a 37.57-meter mark while E. Robinson placed 14th with a 25.39-meter throw.

Madison Stremler placed seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.36, while teammates Andrea Retano placed 20th with a time of 2:30.44 and Anna Cooper clocked in 24th with a time of 2:34.85. Crystal Liebenberg placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.27. Purity Murray placed fourth in the 3K Steeplechase with a time of 11:41.05, while Jenna Storms placed fifth with a time of 11:57.18. Raven Smith placed 16th in the long jump with a 5.37-meter leap and fifth in the tripls e jump with a 11.56-meter leap. Drummond placed 14th in the triple jump with a 10.74-meter leap.

The Golden Eagles return to action on April 14-15 at the Austin Peay Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn.
