COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—The Tennessee Tech track and field team will continue their outdoor season at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday, hosted by Western Kentucky University. The meet is slated to start at 9 a.m. CT at the Charles M. Rueter Track & Field Complex.
"We are excited to compete in our second outdoor meet this season," head coach Wayne Angel said. "We dusted the rust off in South Carolina and now we are ready to get down to business in Bowling Green this weekend."
Numerous teams from throughout the Ohio Valley Conference will join the Golden Eagle squad this weekend including: Belmont, Murray State, UT Martin, Austin Peay, and Eastern Kentucky. Other teams that Tech will watch out for will be Xavier, Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky, Indiana Tech, St. Joseph's (Ind.), and Ohio.
"This is going to be a big meet, there are going to be 23 teams participating and I expect to see great competition and more records to fall," Angel continued. "I'm confident that after this weekend we will be able to better assess how we stand in our conference and what changes we need to make as we move closer to the championship".

Competitions to Watch
Micayla Rennick will once again compete in the 3K Steeplechase. Last time out, Rennick smashed the Golden Eagle school record with a time of 11:13.66 (her first time competing in the event ever) and will look to improve upon that time this weekend.
Sarah Brandt will compete in the 1,500-meter alongside teammates of Rennick and Madison Stremler. Brandt set the Tech school record in the race last year with a time of 4:30.41.
Last Time Out
The Golden Eagles last took to the track on Mar. 24-25 at the Weems Baskin Invitational, hosted by the University of South Carolina. There, N. Robinson claimed a second place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 52.81. N. Robinson clocked in just .11 seconds shy of the lead runner from ASICS, and beat out runners from schools of South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Tennessee State, Savannah State, Alabama State and Charleston Southern. Her time ranks third in the county, second in the South Region, and first in the OVC. N. Robinson also placed fourth in a field of 83 participants in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.56, topping her former school record of 23.78 in the process.
Micayla Rennick claimed a first place finish in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 11:13.66; her first time competing in the event. Rennick's mark also set a new school record, smashing the former record held by Rebecca Cline of 11:20.03, set in the 2014 season. Her time is also the best in the OVC, 11th in the South Region, and 24th in the country.
