Meet concludes Saturday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech set eight new personal bests on day one at the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday at the Gentry Center on the Tennessee State campus.
The event began Friday and continues Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Three Golden Eagles set new career bests in the 800 meter, led by senior Leah Bradley. Bradley ran the course in 2:24.82 to lead all Tech finishers. TTU also got PR performances from senior Jenna Philpott and senior Emily Weinzetl in the event. Philpott posted a 2:26.69 while Weinzetl came in at 2:27.23.
Two Tech runners posted new career bests in the 5,000 meter, led by sophomore Meghan O'Donoghue, who finished with a time of 19:32.04. Sophomore Rebecca Cline also set a PR with a time of 19:52.12.
Other Golden Eagle career-bests came from junior Justine Phillips in the 200 meter (27.30 seconds), sophomore Dalis Connell in the 400 meter (1:03.01) and freshman Madison Keyes in the high jump (5 feet, 0.25 inches).
