NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman Katie Lowery set a school record in the pole vault, the 4x100 relay team did the same in its event, and nine more personal-best marks were set Saturday as the Tennessee Tech women's track & field team wrapped up a successful two-day showing in the Vanderbilt Invitational.

Lowery became the first Tech pole vaulter to reach double figures, clearing 10 feet to place eighth in a tough field of competitors.

The other record was eclipsed by the 4x100 relay foursome of Meagan Lyons, Justine Phillips, Ifey Eguzo and Allison Price, who circled the track in 48.80 seconds. It narrowly nipped the previous mark of 48.90 second.

After establishing 11 personal-best marks Friday, the Golden Eagles added nine more Saturday, including a 2:19.58 effort by Traci Jones in the 800-meter run to rank as the third fastest in school history.

All three Tech runners in the 800 posted career marks. In addition to Jones, Amanda Simmons (2:27.27) and Kathryn Forbes (2:38.20) also recorded personal-best times.

In the 100-meter dash, Lyons finished sixth and Eguzo eighth, while Krysten Joshen (12.90 seconds) and Phillips (13.09) had personal marks.

Price placed seventh in the 400-meter dash while Danielle Catlett placed eighth with a P.R. of 59.70 seconds.

Tech highest finish of the day came in the discus, where Lacy Yslas finished third with a toss of 127 feet, 5 inches. Madison Borden placed fifth, while both Rebecca Forbes (104 feet) and Haley Wennerstrom (95 feet, 2 inches) had career-long efforts.

Lyons had a fourth place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and Katherine Lynn placed fourth in the high ump and Lyons was sixth.

The other two P.R. marks came in the hammer. Ashley Mayhew placed fifth with a throw of 134 feet, while P.R. marks came from Borden (103 feet, 6 inches) and Wennerstrom (99 feet, 9 inches).
