Tennessee Tech Baseball OVC Tournament Preview (5/22)

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 18 nationally-ranked Tennessee Tech baseball team is headed for Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. for the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Tournament, which runs from Tuesday, May 23 through Sunday, May 28. The Golden Eagles enter the league's postseason event as the No. 1 overall seed for the second-straight year after capturing the 2018 OVC regular season title and the 10th in the program history.

The Golden Eagles will receive a bye into the third round of the tournament, not playing their first contest until Thursday, May 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m. CT. Tech will face off against the winner between the No. 4 seeded Jacksonville State Gamecocks and No. 5 Austin Peay Governors. The OVC Tournament will officially open Tuesday evening with a single-elimination contest between the No. 7 seeded Murray State Racers and No. 8 Eastern Illinois Panthers.

All tournament action will be broadcast live on the OVC Digital Network, while every Golden Eagle contest will also be available on 106.1 The Eagle with Dylan Vazzano on the call.

Fans are encouraged to follow social media, the TTUsports.com and OVCsports.com websites for updates concerning any game time changes or delays with inclement weather expected in the Oxford area throughout the week.

The Golden Eagles enter the contest having won 37 of their past 39 games, including a nation's best and OVC-record 28-game winning streak during that stretch. Tech claimed each of its last 11 weekend series, all 10 of its OVC series and 13 of its 14 weekend series this season, not to mention a perfect 11-0 mark in midweek action, to pile up a school-record 46 wins.
