Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (3/10)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team hits the road for its first true road test of the 2016 campaign, opening up Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game set at Morehead State starting Friday afternoon. Due to unfavorable weather expected in the area, the Golden Eagles and Eagles will play a doubleheader Friday, starting at 1:30 p.m. CT.
Game two will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the series opener. The series finale is set for a 1 p.m. CT first pitch Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles enter the contest after winning a slugfest against in-state rival Lipscomb Tuesday afternoon, 14-11. Tech scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth to retake the lead, holding on in the end for the three-run win. The defending OVC Tournament champions, Morehead State is coming off a 9-8 victory in 10 innings over Longwood on Wednesday afternoon.
