2013 OVC Baseball Championship to Return to Pringles Park

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. –
The Ohio Valley Conference announced on Friday a one-year extension to its deal to hold its annual baseball championship at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tenn.

The 2013 OVC Baseball Championship will be held May 22-26 at the venue which serves as the home of the Jackson Generals, the AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. It marks the fourth-straight season the event will be played at Pringles Park.

“We appreciate the leadership and commitment the City of Jackson and the Jackson Generals have made to the OVC for making this an outstanding event for our student-athletes,” said OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche.

“We are extremely happy to continue our relationship with the OVC in hosting its baseball championship,” said Jason Compton, General Manager of the Jackson Generals. “It is great for us to be able to bring a NCAA Division I Baseball Championship to Jackson and we are already looking forward to the event in May.”

Pringles Park opened in 1998 and has a seating capacity of 6,000. The venue hosted the 1999 and 2011 Southern League All-Star Games. Pringles Park also has luxury suites, a video board and merchandise shop that will be used for the championship.
