GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team rounded out play at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic Tuesday afternoon, finishing in ninth place overall among 12 teams competing at Starmount Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
The Golden Eagles posted a tournament-low 310 in the third and final round of action, finishing at 948 overall for the event. Campbell won the tournament with ease, finishing with a total score of 869, more than 30 strokes better than second-place Marshall.
Campbell's Stacey White took home individual medalist honors, posting a 72-72-69=213 to edged out two of her teammates, Ayelen Irizar and Annelie Sjoholm, by three strokes.
Leading the Golden Eagles for the third straight round was sophomore Arianna Clemmer. The youngster tied for 15th overall among 66 participants, her second top-15 performance in-a-row. She recorded a third-round 76 to go along with rounds of 76 and 75 on day one for a 227 overall.
Next among the Tech finishers was fellow sophomore Shelby Johnson, who tied for 34th overall. Johnson carded a 79-76-82=237 in her third event of the fall. Junior Allyson Dunn finished play with a 76 in round three, totaling a 240 after first and second round totals of 80 and 84 to finish 42nd overall.
True freshman Kate Mashburn posted a season-low 76 in her final round of play at the event, combining with an 83 and 89 on Monday for a total score of 248. She tied for 51st. Rounding out Tech's participants, junior Hollee Sadler tallied an 83-85-82=250 to rank 54th overall.
The Golden Eagles will have a week off before returning to the links on Monday, Oct. 16 at the Bill Berg Invitational at The Ridges Golf Club in Hayesville, N.C. The two-day event will wrap up on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
