COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team will officially kick off the 2017-18 season at the NKU Fall Classic Monday morning, competing in the two-day event after the team's original first tournament – the GolfWeek Program Challenge – was postponed due to the impending weather expected in South Carolina from Hurricane Irma.

NKU FALL CLASSIC: Sept. 11-12, 2017 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-71, 6,053-yard Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio. Teams will kick off with a 7 a.m. CT shotgun start each day.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Hollee Sadler, junior Lindsay Miller, senior Allyson Dunn, sophomore Shelby Johnson and sophomore Arianna Clemmer.

THE COMPETITION: The 14-team field consists of host Northern Kentucky, as well as Austin Peay, Belmont, Chicago State, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Fort Wayne, Green Bay, Morehead State, Oakland, Tennessee Tech, UIC and UNC-Asheville.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "We have been anticipating the start of this season for a while now. The women have been working hard all summer and are ready to finally compete. We want to thank Coach Landrum at Northern Kentucky for allowing us to come compete in their event on such short notice. We are very appreciative and looking forward to the opportunity."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles will look to kick off the 2017-18 campaign with a strong showing at a first-time venue for the current members of the team. Tech will send a veteran squad to Ohio, with all five participants boasting starting experience. Rain may play a factor on day two of competition, making a solid performance on Monday that much more important for the Golden Eagles.
