Volleyball donates proceeds from Pink Out event

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Golden Eagle volleyball team presented the Susan G. Komen foundation with a $300 check from the proceeds raised at their Pink Out event held in October.

The team presented the check to Gay McNab, a breast cancer survivor who spoke at the event. The team took donations at their game on October 12. The girls also participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event held the week prior.

"Being a student-athlete at Tech is a tremendous opportunity," said assistant coach Claire Lindner.  "With that comes responsibility. Our young ladies have a platform to be a positive influence in other people's lives.  We are grateful for the opportunity to affect the community of Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland region.  Tech athletics has a tradition of service and we are honored to be a part of that legacy."
