MARTIN, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team wrapped up its regular season Sunday afternoon, taking on the Ohio Valley Conference champion UT Martin Skyhawks in Martin, Tenn. Despite already clinching the top spot in the conference tournament on Friday, the Skyhawk attack was as active as ever, scoring six goals in the contest.
Abi Sanvee scored her first career hat trick for the Skyhawks, helping the team move forward into the OVC tournament with a large amount of momentum.
Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Brown finished the game with six saves, giving her a season total of 123, third most by a Golden Eagle net minder in program history. She also wrapped up the 2012 campaign with a 6.83 saves per game mark, second best season total in school history.
Junior forward Ellie Iaciofano finished tied for third in the OVC with 20 points on the year, scoring eight goals and making four assists. Both were career-high marks for Iaciofano and both led the team for the 2012 season.
The Golden Eagles will head into the offseason looking to fill seven spots on the roster with the departure of seven senior members. Those seniors departing from the Golden Eagles after long standing careers include: Kris Cambron, Sarah Gawthrop, Andrea Meloff, Kerri Reid, Alex Stevenson, Julie Thompson, and Jacquie Watkins.
