COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—After an astounding performance over Tennessee Tech's five games this past week, softball's Callen Griffin has claimed adidas OVC Softball Player of the Week accolades on Apr. 25.
Griffin had an extremely successful week at the dish. Over the Golden Eagle's five games, the sophomore maintained a .643 batting average; recording hits on nine of her 14 at-bats to lead the Golden Eagles while recording a .786 slugging percentage. She recorded extra bases in two of Tech's five games, including one double in game two at Murray State and one double in game one versus Austin Peay. On the weekend, she recorded 10 assists in the field with three putouts and only one error playing shortstop for the Golden Eagles.
On the season, Griffin maintains a .281 batting average and has tallied 12 RBI, one homerun, and three doubles.
