Golden Eagles look to close out final round of Kenny Perry Invitational on high note

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Both rounds one and two officially came to a close at the Kenny Perry Invitational at The Club at Olde Stone Monday night, as the Tennessee Tech men's golf team concluded the first day of action in Bowling Green, Ky. with scores of 304 and 311 for a 615 overall.

Returning to the Tech lineup to lead the scoring on day one was sophomore Matthew Giles, who finished the first 36 holes of play in a tie for seventh place thanks to rounds of 74 and 71 for a 145.

Two more veteran Golden Eagles followed Giles in the rankings, with junior Alexander Riddle finishing second among the Tech starting five. Riddle fired back-to-back rounds of 77 for a 154 while fellow junior A.J. Wilkerson followed right behind. Wilkerson carded a 78-80=158 during his first day on the links in Bowling Green.

True freshman Dabney Dickenson was next among the Tech golfers on the leaderboard, concluding the first two rounds with scores of 75 and 86 for a 161 overall. Competing in his first collegiate event, redshirt freshman Landon Albert concluded the Golden Eagles' group of participants, carding rounds of 88 and 83 for a 171.

The third and final round of the Kenny Perry Invitational will commence Tuesday morning with tee times starting at 8 a.m. CT.
