COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team head south to kick off its spring slate Monday, participating in the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate hosted by Loyola (Md.) from Mar. 6-7 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
FORT LAUDERDALE INTERCOLLEGIATE: 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at Fort Lauderdale Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Matthew Giles, junior Alexander Riddle, junior A.J. Wilkerson, freshman Cameron Yeary and freshman Dabney Dickenson.
THE COMPETITION: The 14-team field consists of host Loyola (Md.), as well as Drake, Florida Atlantic, Florid Gulf Coast, Hartford, Holy Cross, Old Dominion, Manhattan, Mercer, Richmond, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure, Stetson and Tennessee Tech.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "The guys are very excited to begin the spring semester. We are very fortunate to begin the season down in Florida. We have been extremely fortunate to have had some great winter weather, and they have taken full advantage in their preparations. We are looking forward to competing again."
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles will look to build off a strong finish to the fall season, a fourth-place showing at the Samford Intercollegiate. Tech will play in just five spring events, including the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in April, providing the young TTU squad with just enough time to prepare for a run at a conference crown.
