NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Josh Reliford had one of the biggest plays in Saturday's 35-34 Homecoming victory over Lindenwood. Tuesday, he was recognized for his efforts as he was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.

The nominees were submitted by the institution's sports information contacts and selected by the organization.

Reliford collected eight total tackles in the game – six solo – while also collecting one of the school-record 10 sacks in the contest. Reliford also forced a fumble to end a Lindenwood drive in Tech territory.

His biggest play, however, was breaking up the potentially game-winning two-point conversion pass from Cade Brister with 14 seconds to go in the game.

Tech football returns to action this weekend as the Golden Eagles travel to Florence, Ala., to take on North Alabama. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 4 p.m.
