COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech's football alumni made this weekend's Football Alumni Reunion and Golf Classic a special one as the event pulled in its largest ever turnout with a full field and many more in attendance as part of this year's Golden Eagle Football Centennial.

Friday's reunion and Tony Stone BBQ Dinner had a packed house at the Leslie Town Centre as the assembly swapped tales of their days on the gridiron, met members of the 2022 Tech squad and coaching staff and took a moment to celebrate the program's past.

The future wasn't too far out of mind either. With progress updates on the Football Operations Center and the football stadium providing a spirit of excitement around the crowd, University President Phil Oldham announced a partnership with Averitt Express and thanked them for their support, as well as the support of the major donors thus far.

The football alumni team of Sam Brooks, Danny Brooks, Gerald Brown and Joe Erdeljac carded a 47 to earn the 2022 spot on the Jim Ragland Cup for the highest finishing team comprised of former Tech football players, coaches, trainers and managers.

Also scoring a 47, the team of Jay Albrecht, Wayne Anderson, Rick Anderson and Adam Poe won the tournament's championship flight.

Jake Warwick won the 49-Under long drive on No. 6, while Fred Edgington was the long winner in the 50-up class. Brad Simmons was the closest to the pin on No. 3, while Andrew Swicegood was the closest on No. 12.

Dates for the 33rd annual Tech Football Alumni Reunion and Golf Classic are set with the event to be held on July 14 and 15, 2023.
