Program presented by IWC Cash &
Carry;
To air on both television and radio
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech football fans throughout the region can follow the Golden Eagles during the 2010 season with a weekly call-in show that will be simulcast on both television and radio.
The Watson Brown Show, featuring popular fourth-year Golden
Eagle head coach Watson Brown, will be presented by IWC
Cash & Carry. The call-in show will air on WCTE-TV
live every Monday night at 5 p.m., with a taped encore each
Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Each show will also air on 1400 The Hub News/Talk radio.
“This is a fun show to do,” Brown said. “We get
some interesting questions from our callers and it’s a nice
way to present what’s going on within our program. Hopefully
the show will help us continue to build support for the young men
on our team, and our listeners will add to our fan support in the
stadium each week for our home games.”
During the 30-minute broadcast, Brown will sit down with local
sports personality Buddy Pearson and recap the previous
week’s game, show highlights and game film, preview the
upcoming opponent, and answer questions from callers as well as
emails.
Fans can ask questions during the Monday night live broadcasts by
calling (931) 528-2222. Viewers can also email questions to:
WatsonBrownShow@gmail.com.
“It’s amazing the wide range of questions we
receive,” Brown said. “Some of our callers are really
paying attention and have pretty in-depth questions, and some are
looking for general information. We appreciate every one of
them.”
The premier episode will be on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6 after
the Golden Eagles return from their season opener at No. 16
Arkansas. The show will air throughout the regular season, and
would continue into the post-season if the Golden Eagles reach the
playoffs.
WCTE is the PBS station for the Upper Cumberland, and can be seen
in the Nashville market on Dish and DirectTV. 1400 The Hub
News/Talk radio is part of the Golden Eagle Sports Network.
“We are thrilled that IWC Cash & Carry is the presenting sponsor once again this year,” said Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics. “Their support will allow to us air The Watson Brown Show during the 2010 season, and WCTE-TV does a great job with the show and with all of their sports coverage in the region. The Watson Brown Show has proven to be popular with fans throughout the Upper Cumberland and Metro Nashville regions, and we plan to build on that success.”
WCTE-TV will televise the first four of Tech’s home games in 2010, while the final home game is the OVC TV Game of the Week on the Wazoo Sports Network.
Brown, a Cookeville native, is in his fourth season as Tennessee Tech’s head football coach. He is in his 26th season as a head football coach, and his 38th season in college coaching overall.
The program will be produced by Rick Wells, WCTE Production manager.
