COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Local band Legacy will get the evening started as the special musical guest Saturday in the Magic 98.5 Tailgate Park, and another spectacular fireworks display will cap the night's action when Tennessee Tech hosts Eastern Illinois in an Ohio Valley Conference game in Tucker Stadium.

Kickoff for the OVC tilt is at 7 p.m. as the Golden Eagles look to post back-to-back victories. Good seats are still available at the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center or by calling (931) 372-3940.

The Magic 98.5 Tailgate Park opens at 4 p.m. and will feature the sounds of Legacy (pictured below), a popular five-man classic rock band from Cookeville that has appeared at numerous events throughout the region. Members of the group include Freddy Duncan, Larry Edmondson, Glen Holverson, Anthony Jackson and Jeff Stout. In addition to it's own songs, the band's playlist includes covers of hits from artists ranging from Tom Petty and Bon Jovi to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey and ZZ Top.

Tech's offense is paced by sophomore quarterback Tre Lamb, who is approaching 1,000 passing yards in his first season as a starter. Lamb leads the OVC in passing efficiency and has thrown for 811 yards and eight tochdowns, with just three interceptions. His top target has been junior Tim Benford, who leads the team for the third straight year. An all-OVC wide receiver, Benford (pictured above) has 21 catches for 434 yards and six scores, and ranks among OVC leaders in several categories.

Joining Lamb in the backfield, Dontey Gay and Jocques Crawford are the team's top ground gainers. Gay has rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries, averaging 6.8 yards per try. Crawford has 246 yards and three scores on 55 carries, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

On defense, Marty Jones, Kelechi Ordu and Dustin Dillihay top the team in tackles. Jones has a team-best 45 tackles and also leads Tech with two interceptions. Ordu has 41 tackls, while Dillehay owns 37 tackles and an interception. Sophomore Marcus Edwards leads the team in quarterback sacks with three, while Will Johnson, Jamere Hogue and Dwight Evans each have three tackles-for-loss this season. 

Following the game at approximately 10 p.m., the fireworks display will flash in the night sky over Tucker Stadium. The Golden Eagle football team will also join the Golden Eagle Marching Band in singing the Tech Hymn.
