COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech baseball coach Matt Bragga and the Golden Eagle players and staff will host the 2011 Golden Eagle Baseball Camp on the TTU campus, June 13-16. Open to boys from 6 to 14, the Golden Eagle Baseball Camp is a four-day event designed to help each camper with the fundamentals of the game. Each camper will be placed on a team based on age and each team will have a coach. During the four days, campers will learn numerous aspects of the game of baseball.

"Our focus will be on hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, individual position work at your favorite position such as pitchers, infielders, catchers and outfielders, and much more," Bragga explained. "Campers will play rag ball games and have a blast playing in the TTU baseball olympics. Come out and join the fun!

"Our goal is simply to stress the fundamentals of baseball," Bragga added. "This will allow the campers the opportunity to secure a strong foundation for building baseball talents. We will also stress the importance of positive mental and emotional attitudes, which are not only beneficial to athletes, but are conducive to success in all walks of life."

The cost of the camp is $150 per camper, which includes the use of equipment and facilities, a t-shirt and lunch Monday through Wednesday. Late registration will be held Monday from 8 to 9 a.m., and the camp sessions begin each day at 9 a.m.

For additional information or to register, call (931) 372-6546 or (931) 372-3853.

Although this camp is run by TTU coaches and use of their facilities is warranted, it is run independently of Tennessee Tech University.
