BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Tennessee Tech track and field team opened day one at the Indiana University relays on a high note. Newcomer Micayla Rennick smashed another Golden Eagle school record in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:04.23. Her time not only clocked in six seconds faster than the next runner from Southeast Missouri, but it also topped former Tech track star's Stephanie Place's school record time of 17:36.63, which she established in February of 2008 at the TSU Invitational.

Na'Asha Robinson and D'Airrien Jackson had a phenomenal showing for the Golden Eagles as well. N. Robinson beat out all other runners in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.24, while Jackson came in just shortly behind her placing second with a 24.63 mark.

The Golden Eagles return to the track tomorrow morning at 9:20 a.m. to close out competition at the Gladstein Fieldhouse.
