COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—For the first time in Tennessee Tech school history, sophomore Na'Asha Robinson will travel to Eugene, Ore., to represent the Purple and Gold and compete at the NCAA Division I Women's Track and Field Championships. Robinson will face an elite group of runners, representing the Golden Eagles on the national level in the 400-meter dash.

"It was awesome to watch Na'Asha's history making performance last week," head coach Wayne Angel said. "She ran with such heart and soul and followed Coach Frazier's race plan and executed it and landed a qualifying spot to the NCAA championships in Eugene, Oregon this week. Na'Asha is in the best shape of her life, she is committed, focused and on a mission. I can't wait to see what unfolds at the NCAA Championships."

Most recently at the NCAA East Preliminaries, Robinson breezed through the first round of the 400-meter dash with a fifth place finish in a field of 47 runners, recording a time of 53.05. Robinson then proceeded to amaze in the quarterfinals when she not only landed a trip to Oregon, but set the Tech school record in the process with a sixth place time of 52.00. Robinson topped runners from schools of LSU, Florida State, Purdue, Ohio State, Alabama, and Miami to earn her spot to compete amongst the best of the best.

Robinson will compete in the semifinal of the 400-meter dash on Thursday, June 8, at 6 p.m. PST/8 p.m. CDT. Fans can watch the event live on ESPN2.
