COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Students, faculty and staff of Tennessee Tech University, citizens of Cookeville and residents of the entire Upper Cumberland area now have a great opportunity to assist in the aid to the flood victims of the greater Baton Rouge area of Louisiana.
Thanks to the efforts of the Golden Eagle softball team, the University and the TTU athletics department, donations will be taken now through Sunday, Sept. 25 and be shipped to the Salvation Army and Red Cross located in Baton Rouge, La.
Donation boxes/centers will be set up and located in several Tennessee Tech University campus locations, including the Athletic Performance Center, the south entrance of the Hooper Eblen Center, the second floor of the Roaden University Center's lobby, the Volpe Library and Bell Hall.
The following items have been requested but are not limited to: shampoos and conditioners, razors, shaving cream, face wash, feminine products, soaps, wash cloths, combs, brushes, floss, tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, lotion, nail clippers and files, mouth wash, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, contact solution and non-perishable and canned foods such as canned soups, canned meats, peanut butter, canned fruits, crackers, macaroni and cheese and ramen noodles.
Those wishing to help out in the efforts may also donate gift cards for Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and the like and bring them to Michelle Huddleston in room 108 of the Service Learning Center of the Roaden University Center's first floor.
