COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With plenty of experience working events in large arenas, Tom Crowley comes to Tennessee Tech as a facilities and events coordinator, helping the Golden Eagles run their events with ease.

"I'm just really excited to be here at Tech," Crowley said. "I enjoy being a part of a team and I'm excited to get to help student-athletes and to get to take this next chapter of my life."

Crowley has a wealth of event experience, working as a technical director for Marathon Music Works, on the operations crew at Bridgestone Arena and as a stadium operations assistant with the Nashville Sounds when the Minor League Baseball club opened up its new field at First Tennessee Park. He has also worked with the Tennessee Performing Arts Center as an assistant house manager, a site manager and event assistant with the Live on the Green Music Festival in Nashville and as site logistics for the Luke Bryan Farm Tour in 2013 and 2014.

After a while, Crowley realized that he wanted to get into the athletic management career field.

"I was at Bridgestone Arena and was working there and I really hit a roadblock," Crowley said. "I wanted to make both worlds intersect, because there is such a parallel. I wanted to find a career that was the best of both worlds, and I think I found that here at Tech."

He also has experience with the Ohio Valley Conference as he was an operations and game management intern at Belmont University, as well as served as a student coordinator, then a G.A. in the Nashville college's Outdoor Recreation and Intramural departments.

"I love the OVC and what they do," Crowley said. "I love the growth of the conference and the increased competition."

Most recently, Crowley worked with Ensworth High School with a game administration, operations and youth league management internship.

Crowley graduated from Appalachian State in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in recreation management. After some time working, he returned to academic work at Belmont, receiving his Masters degree in Sport Administration in May.
