COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—The Tennessee Tech volleyball team will put what they have been working on all preseason long to the test when they host the Purple vs. Gold Scrimmage on Saturday.

This is an intersquad scrimmage that is open to the public FREE of charge, with the first serve slated for 4 p.m. in the Hooper Eblen Center.

The scrimmage will give fans the first look at the Golden Eagles this season and give them a chance to get to know the newcomers on the Tech squad, as well as allow the Purple and Golden team to fine-tune their skills before their first match of the year.

"Mostly we are looking at someone in the outside position standing out for us," head coach Dave Zelenock remarked. "Every day we have had different kids trading with who is putting up the numbers. That's the one position that is really completely still open and we've only got a week left. As for the setters: it's still a close fight. The liberos and middles are kind of the same thing. Really, it's the outsides that are the big question marks for us right now. I don't anticipate us having two starters all season. I see a lot of people going in throughout the whole year."

Admission to all Tennessee Tech regular season volleyball matches is free of charge. You can follow the Golden Eagles online on Facebook on the Tennessee Tech Women's Volleyball and TTU Sports pages, as well as on Twitter at @TNTechVball and @TTUGoldenEagles.
