COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team returns to Ohio Valley Conference action early this week as they travel to Jacksonville State to take on the Gamecocks on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CDT. The Golden Eagles are looking to rebound after going 0-2 this past weekend against OVC opponents Murray State and Austin Peay.

"Right now we're focused on Jacksonville," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "They won two tough five game matches this weekend against teams we didn't beat, so they are going to be tough. On film they look good; they are well coached. They run a similar offense to us so hopefully that helps our defense since they are used to seeing it every day. Whichever team can stay disciplined the longest should come out on top."

The Golden Eagles will be looking to build off the strong performances from their outside hitters. Junior Ellen Conti and senior Natalie Penrod tallied 34 and 35 kills over the weekend, respectively.

"Our outsides always have the ability to put up big numbers," said Zelenock. "Part of that is because our middles and right sides have been so good lately, everyone is ready for them, so the outsides are going against a lot of 1-on-1 blocks. If we can get our middles and rights going again this week, I expect our outsides to have big numbers again. They are really aggressive hitters who are very good at staying in tempo, so even in bad situations they can force opponents out of system or get kills. Staying low on errors is going to be a key."

Live video stream of the match will be available on the OVCDigitalNetwork.com and live stats will also be available.
