COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team (2-9) begins its 2010 conference schedule this weekend as it takes on Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State. The Colonels and Eagles own a combined 7-13 record.
"The season starts now," head coach John Blair stated. "You
can throw the records out the window and get ready for the OVC
schedule. The team (Tech) knows what it needs to do and our goal is
to be in the mix from day one."
The Golden Eagles begin their conference schedule against the
Eastern Kentucky Colonels Friday at 6 p.m. Tech may be 19-43
all-time against EKU, but the Golden Eagles have won five of their
last six meetings, including two sweeps. The Colonels own a 1-8
record on the season.
Tennessee Tech finishes the weekend Saturday squaring off with
the Morehead State Eagles at 1 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 17-49
all-time record against the Eagles, but have split their last four
matches over the last two seasons, including a TTU sweep in 2008.
Morehead State currently sits 6-5 on the season.
"We're going to assume that both teams are going to be right
near the top of the OVC and I have not seen anything yet that would
change that," Blair said.
